An abode

What I wrote about it when I made it (autumn 2007):
We were working with the theme "abode" in school (KV Konstskola, Göteborg, Sweden) and I worked sculptural and my result was this figure in its "abode".
I've been thinking of several ways to see it. It began with that I read a book about prostitution and how exposed this people are, through beeing seen as bad persons and that feminists are against them and so on.
On the other hand it deals with perfectionism with the ladies on the wall that are watching the animal. It's also symbolic with the colours. Yellow is sin and at the same time a colour that is enlightening. The floor is like a circus manege. The figure is crouched and scared. It is red and it symbolise potential and viability.
